The only code i'm getting is the ECT and my car won't start ... i'm going to replace the sensor but does anyone know if this really is the problem .. can the ECT prevent the car from starting ?? I'm going from OBD1 to OBD2a .. From a B18b to the JDM b18c do I have to replace all the JDM sensors is that why it's not working ... i'm using the JDM computer so ??


There are a couple of ECT .. the switch, the sending unit, and I think one more which one messes with the A/F??? I know the sending unit tells the gauge what temperature things are at ... so is it the switch??

Short answer yes it can prevent your car from starting. Replace it.

 

yes code 6 can prevent the car from starting. make sure the plug is connected tightly and look for an loose/frayed wires. make sure your coolant is full and bled of any air pockets

 

yea but the car has to start first ... I did a power and ground check at the injector plug and i'm getting both .. put a noid light in the plug and when I turn the car over NO PULSE .. would the ECT stop the injectors from getting pulse??
