well, it's finally getting cold here in kansas, and it was raining the past couple of days. rain + cold outside = need defroster.

well, apparantly my defroster crapped out on me. and actually, the only place air will come out is through the dash vents. it's also very difficult to slide the temperature control **** from cool to warm.

anybody else have this problem and know what it is? know how to fix it?

 

Sounds like one of the cable or cable guides have come loose or broken, I suggest taking apart to sneak a look.

Also try some spray lube on the cables to let them slide easier.

 

what rob said.. that's usually the cause when you can't slide the thing.. if all looks good with the cables, I'd pull the HVAC controls to check their operation.. should be pretty easy..

 

doesn't sound like the whole dash needs to come out does it? on my old BMW you had to take the whole ******* thing apart to change 1 little bulb. looked and fit great, but sucked to work on.

i've ripped out mazda stuff before, but never honda's. if a cable has just come off and i can just take out the center section........well i'd be a happy boy.

 

you shouldn't have to take the whole dash out.. possibly the center section.. pulling the glovebox would make things easier as well.. otherwise, the dash should remain intact..

pulling the dash on an integra is not THAT hard anyhow..
