Default D16 Running S300, what knock sensor?

Okay, i've got a turbo d16 CRX and I want to use a knock sensor with the Hondata S300 system (to tune it better), but what knock sensor? are obd2 and obd1 knock sensors interchangeable? I've heard that the d16y8 has a knock sensor, but that's obd2, and S300 is obd1. Also, people have told me just to use an obd1 b16 knock sensor, but each knock sensor is designed differently, and a b16 has different knock charactersistics then a d16 would (I ASSUME ANYWAYS).

There's gotta be another d16 owner running Hondata with a knock sensor, what did you do to fix this problem?

why do you want a knock sensor so bad? if you tune it good you dont have to worry about knock.

Because i'm not an expert tuner, AND because if Hondata didn't think you needed a knock sensor, they probably wouldn't have included that capability when they hacked the Honda ecu.

bump please, help, d16 knock guys

leave it out. The Honda one is too sensitive for boost and especially sensitive for forged internals if you have them. It isn't worth the hassle to use an aftermarket one with Hondata IMO.

See here from a post by Jeff Evans.

awesome ladysman. Thanks for the link.

Is the honda knock sensor and knock board on the ecu also too sensitive for a stock motor runing boost, considering it doesn't have forged internals?

Every car I tune with Hondata, I disable it in the software. I believe most tuners do as well.
