Default Help installing shocks

Has anyone installed shocks/springs completely on their own with no help? How did you do it?

I remember when I did this a while back, I had trouble getting the forks back onto the LCA without help from someone pushing down on the LCA. For those who have done this completely on your own, how did you manage to get the things back on yourself?

for the fronts, put the bolt on through the first hole and stand on the rotor jumping up and down, pound the bolt with a hammer through the first holes getting it through the first holes is the tough part.

I did have help from a friend (slowerthanu) when I first installed my shock/spring setup, and the bolts shouldn't be a problem considering your car is new. Just buy some good lubricant spray (Liquid Wrench, etc) and spray the LCA's really good and then use 17mm wrenches/sockets and take them out, not too bad. When you put the new shock back in you can use a jack and pump up the LCA/Fork assembly to line them up properly as well. Hope that helps and if you need anything feel free to IM me.

Good Luck!

use a small jack to line up the LCA and the fork and then just mess with it to slide the bolt threw, you should be able to do this on your own....no problem, you might need some help with the back though, or you could unbolt everything but it would be quicker to have someone stand on the caliperand push down to get the stock shock out and to put the new one in........good luck bro.......

I used a vise grips on the LCA. I just twisted the LCA slightly to get it to line up corretly. It worked out really well. I just had to tap the bolt in place with a hammer. No bouncing, pounding, or brute strength.
