HELP!! How much for another engine??
I might buy a 94 coupe but the engine is blown.
how much would it cost to rebuild? how much for a newer/better engine? I'm in cali. and we gotta deal with the smog b.s. so i cant get just any engine. ANY help is greatly appreciated!

well rebuilds would probbaly cost more. The easiest thing to do would probably be order a longblock from hmotorsonline.com Get the USDM version, and the engine from the same body type (i.e. LS or GS-R) and just make sure its the same year or newer, and that should be pretty much all you have to do.. I dont know much about it, since Im not in Cali, I dont have to worry about all the smog crap.

Rebuilding will run you about $300-$600, depending how much of a rebuild you want to go. And that's without labor.
You're near me, I live in Hacienda Heights. I can get you a good engine for about $500 with low miles. I can install it too for $200 bucks. It'll take me a weekend to get it going.
PM me if you're interested...

^ It would be wise just to purchase a longblock. I live in Cali. and "supposely" the law requires you to swap the same kind of motor matching your vehicle. The motor has to be the same year or newer than your vehicle. It's possible you might need to state ref it afterwards. Cali is a bitch. Let's all go to Florida!

how much more does a b16 push than an ls?

this issue has been debated a few times and the conclusion to most people is that the B16a has less torque and your better off getting a LS motor instead.
IMO, i think a b16a is not too bad in an integra but for the price difference, yea LS its probably a wiser choice. In Japan, their EK sedans had a b16a in it and the wieght between an EK sedan and DC are nearly identical

just my 2 cents but i wouldnt recomend having your engine rebuilt unless neccasary(aftermarket components) it would be cheaper/safer to buy a new longblock($$) or a used long block which u can get for around$800 again just my opinion

Anyone know the list of parts you need for a rebuild? My car is burning oil and I want to solve this problem once and for all.
To the OP buy the car and make it into a monster! You should bargain it down as much as you can since you are buying a car that doesn't run.
