This is an exhaust controller I was looking at on Ebay. I wanted to know if anyone knew anything about this. My neighbors are complaining about my exhaust but i already have the silencer on and dont want to make it any softer. I was wondering is this a good item? Or if anyone has any ideas Thankz

tell your neighbors to eat poo.. If your not gunning it down the street and using your tranny to slow down, your exhaust shouldnt be THAT loud...
That doesn't look like a "controller", or at least what you think it is. I've never even heard of something like that.
The picture you posted looks something like a butterfly valve for a cutout in the system. There's really no way to quiet down an exhaust unless you put a restriction in it, such as a muffler, glasspack/resonator.....or a turbo.
Like HoUTX98GSR said.....your exhaust shouldn't be THAT loud unless there's something wrong with it/your motor.

i said the same... until they said they going to call the DEP on me which is Federal and i dont have a converter is a straight pipe which is illegal in nyc. Also my driveway is next to a condminium and is about 10 feet wide which makes the noise even louder. And im 19 so im coming home all times of night. lol. Nah the description on the Ebay page is a controller and it comes with a switch that you put near your dash so u can open and close the valve? If not, then i need a resonator or a real converter . Point me in the right direction thankz

Don't get scared about what your neighbors are threatening you with. As long as you're not obnoxious and revving it up and down all hours of the night, then you're fine. They can't do anything about it unless you are being dumb.
That link you posted is exactly what you said. Something that opens and closes a valve via a cable that you can route to anywhere, such as your dash. However, think about it. What are you opening and closing? When the valve is open, the exhaust gets routed normally through the exhaust, right? Therefore it will be just as loud as before. When you close it, you're supposed to have another piece put on to route the exhaust in a different direction. Where will you route it?
Normally, people who use this have their exhaust system rerouted to bypass a cat/muffler/piping in order to make their exhaust more efficient (such as in a high boosting turbo setup). That will be A LOT louder, and is used on the track. It's routed right out to the open, similar to a exhaust dump tube (i.e.: loud as fawk).
This will do you no good. What are your mods? Chances are you don't have a high boosting turbo setup, or something that yields over 200whp, right? In that case, you are losing quite a bit of power with your straight pipe. Why do you have it? It sounds loud, but it isn't making you faster.
If you want to keep it, go to a muffler shop and have them put in a resonator in the piping. Maybe even put in two.

yeh das true thankz man you right about the hp and noise. It really insnt worth it and becuase of the straight pipe i had to put the cap on so ethier way im not getting all the air pressure out that i want. What kind of resonator should i buy? im thinking about just buying a whole new cat and getting the resonator on with that one. I think I'll go greddy sp2 or a exhaust that is a bit quieter? what do you guys think for a 95 integra Ls?

First off, dont worry about your neighbors calling any government agency. I highly doubt the DEP, EPA, DMV, DOT or any sactioning body is going to waste their time and manpower to send a 'task force' to your house to enforce any sound regulations. If anything, they'll just tell your neighbors "Oh, he's got a loud exhaust? Suuure, we'll get right on it." They'll never show up and that'll be the end of it.
Secondly, that pic is a sort of throttle body for your exhaust. I've seen them in Option 2, they've been available for sometime in Japan. The idea is pretty simple, restrict the velocity of air to control sound output. It's hooked up to a cable and switch that can be controlled in your cabin. You can then partially close/open or fully open the butterfly. If you fully close it, I doubt you'll need to re-route the exhuast gasses, there's a small enough gap that the air can flow around the butterfly and not create a backup. A simple idea and Im sure it works fine. If you really want to keep your exhaust set up, I'd say try that first.
