Re: Header bolt broke off while tightening (pdcdragon)
Bet it was one of the lower left studs right?
Seems to be a semi-common problem. Anyways, it's a stud not a bolt. You'll need to extract it out and replace it. Not fun if you don't have the right tools. The stud itself should be cheap from Acura, however getting it out can be a real PITA.
My advice, take it to a H-A Specialist that already has the tools to do it right.

I broke the one closest to the distributor, I bet that's the one you broke, too. That was over a year ago and I haven't had any problems. Next time I drain my radiator I might take it out and remove the bumper so I'll have room to get a drill and screw extractor in there.

Re: Header bolt broke off while tightening (emr88)
It was a bolt (GS) Actually the top right. It would of been all good but now i can hear alittle bit of a leak when im at full throttle. So I guess ill have to do some extracting.

Me too. I wonder why this one stud seems so often?

Re: Header bolt broke off while tightening (Freelance-GSR)
Mine broke awhile a go. There were some leak in the begining cuz I reused the gasket. But ever since I put in the new gasket, ther has been no more leak. I think the new gasket expanded and seal the leak. It's also the top left stud.

Did you ever get it out? I just pulled the heat shield off of the exhaust manfold on my gsr swap I just got from IAS and noticed two nuts were missing, one bolt was snapped and there is some sort of sealant all over the gasket. I left Larry Jr a message but I doubt he will do anything about it.

Re: (c13r)
when you remove them, soak in PB blaster first. Then to remove them, put a socket on it and lightly tap with a hammer to break it loose. Apply anti seize when putting them back in.
