no, not because the port and polish. but you should replace the stock head bolts with some ARP head studs. I've been told once you use the stock bolts you shouldnt reuse them because they stretch. ARPs you can use over and over.

I don't understand how a port and polish would be related to head studs (actually head BOLTS if you're talking about the stock ones haha) other than the fact that you took the head off. It's recommended to replace stock head bolts since they stretch like grundle said but people have reused them over and over without a problem. If you're running really high compression/revving really high, or running boost, I'd go with ARP studs just to make sure you don't reuse weak OEM bolts and plus since they're stronger. If you got the money, which ARP head studs aren't expensive, I'd just get them as peace of mind since it sounds like you're doing a pretty serious build on your engine.

acording to an acura parts dealership the oem head studs cost 87.00 for a set of 10. ARPs are $116. they are well worth the $29 more.

Your not supposed to reuse the stock head bolts as stated(although you can use stock bolts on a p&p head, I had that on my engine) but also like stated the ARP head studs don't cost much more but it's well worth the extra. I made the mistake of buying new head bolts at first on my p&p head, just monday when I redid my rings I put in ARP rod bolts and ARP head studs on along with my stock head(p&p head wasn't working well). And I only had the new stock bolts in for about 3k miles, was a big waste of money, get the ARP's in the first place and save a lot of hassle.
