form vs. function
Hi guys. my name is holden and ive recently been thinking about getting into an intergra. im coming from the vw world so don't hate too much because i still have a great appreciation for both scenes.
my question for you guys is, i see a lot of people who are scared to lower there car to much because they will lose the performance aspect. i personally love the extremely low look and wouldnt have it any other way. so what i'm asking for here is to show me pictures of integras (preferably 94-01) that have form or ones that have function. heres a couple examples that ive found from looking around the forum
function:

form:

both:

and just to show you where i'm coming from heres a couple of me and my friends volkswagens:
mine-

some others:

thanks for the help and i look forward to your advice/pictures

Your question is ill conceived. What do you mean by form and function? Function could mean many things: ride quality, handling, and/or ground clearance. If you want low, go for it. Just don't bottom out your suspension.
so let me rephrase this question...
whats the general opinion on ride height in the integra forum? do people like a little drop to add better handling or do people go for it and sacrafice their handling for an agressive look?
the link to the ride height thread was great but i was asking for integras specifically. im not trying to cause any waves here, im just looking for some opinions. so if youve got nothing good to say gtfo

dont flame me if im wrong but isnt this kind of a stupid question? the lower your car is the lower your center of gravity is. so the lower it is the better it handles right? ive got eibach sport lines on mine looks good and handles great.

LOL. Fixed it for you.
OP, we focus on the technical aspects in this forum. If this is just about appearance, we can move it to the Appearance and Cosmetic forum. You need to decide on a ride height and then get the proper components to make it happen, i.e. choosing the spring with the correct rate, good shocks, camber kits (if needed), etc.

You can screw up your suspension geometry if it's too low...and scrape your exhaust on the pavement if really low...

In theory, yes. You can also bottom out the suspension which makes the handling worse. Bump steer is another side effect of too low.

I think you guys are forgetting about axle angle also. Stock Honda axles wasn't design handle such extreme angle like 2" or more lowering. That also go with your stock ball joints, tie rods, etc...... U can lower your car as much as you want for the "look" but u are overlooking all the other components that works well with factory geometry. General rules of thumb for a street car is to lower no more than 1.5" from factory. Eibach pro kit works fine for me, it is the strut that make the most different in ride quality if you think about it!

i think noobie needs a spanking
if you cant have a good sense of humor or be able to take some minor criticism then maybe you should "gtfo"

your car looks good, but still a bit high, i have the pro kit and im going to get koni yellows for the best of both worlds, i will be able to drive it at the normal pro kit height while cruising, but yet drop it a perch on the koni's and have a more slammed look for shows

I've had my GSR low and i've had it high (for winter)....of the two, i like it higher. I dont have any pictures of it lifted though. Unlike some of the cars pictured, i'm running BFG Drag Radials and they stick out past the fenders. If i keep the car low, they rub.

You just have to be merciless with the sword so that devout haters form a club in your dishonor.

watch the speed bumps! my friend wtih a bimmer cracked his oil pan on one, didnt realize it and seized his engine, and that was with only about an inch drop.
anyway, for your question. i dont think theres really anything wrong with wanting to slam the **** out of your car. long as you realize everything else that goes with there, like the previously mentioned geometry complications.
just get some good stuff and slam it if thats your thing. in my opinion, i care too much about practicality to slam my car, ive got stock suspension, and i do plan on swapping it, but i care only about handling, and i wouldnt WANT to lower my car more than an inch or so just because i dont want to have to worry about bottoming out.
if you want to, then go for it. who cares what anyone here thinks?
