i just finished up swapping a JDM b20b into my 90 integra LS and i started the car yesterday and turned on my headlights, engine shut off and does nothing now. i dont have any idea where the wiring could be messed up b/c i kept all the wiring in tact during the swap. after this happened i removed all the wires that someone had under the dash for a security system, there were a ton of barely connected wires and even some that were just not connected at all. all the wiring is back to the original under there now. i dont see anything under the engine bay that could be wrong, and i dont see any fuses blown........WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!

i just bypassed the ignition system to test the starter and it works.......so there must be a short in the ignition system somewhere

what should i look for first??? im completely in the dark with this one

where is the starter relay??? it says its right near the head unit, but i cant find it

B20 and LS motor are pretty much the same right??.. Did you try checking to see if your timing belt was on right.?.... That might be the problem.. But if not, good luck!

 

Did you do a B20 VTEC or stock B20? If your timing belt is broke you may have bent valves and if the valves made contact with the pistons then you may have holes in the pistons. The best way to check to see if that is the case is to first, if the timing belt snaped replace it or if it did not skip this, next i would do a leak down test on it and dont settle for anything less that perfect. while doing the test go up to your intake to see if you hear air coming out. Also check your exhaust to see if air is coming out. Try this and let me know the resukt so I can instruct you further.

even if there was not a timing belt on the engine it would still crank!! im saying that there is no signal going to the starter, but i know the starter works b/c i tested it. now my only guess is that the starter relay got shorted out, but i cant find the starter relay to test it

 

chech the starter ground on your tranny cause thats what happen to me on my swap everything was trippin until i tightened the gruond for the starter that was located on the tranny(the fat blck wire) hope it helps!!!!!! or if that dosent work then have someone crank the key while you look in under the hoodand search for sparks.........
