here is one i did this past summer for a HT member
Decided to help a fellow H-T member with his new car. and his filthy engine bay. came out 100x better than what it started with. Hid alot of wiring and rerouted the wiring. cleaned it up alot. Enjoy

This is what i removed
Ripped out the AC system. pump, condenser, lines ect. everythings gotta come out.
Heat shields on the exhaust manifold
intake resonator

Wiring that was re routed. No wires were shortened or lenghtened. when extending or shortening wiring you can effect the resistance in that line. and could affect how your engine performs

Passanger side Headlight, horn, turn signal, ground box harness was taken and ran in the inner fenderwell gound box was hooked up to the 10mm bolt that held on the intake resonator.

Driver side headlight turn signal ground box harness was ran through the fenderwell and held up with a open 10mm spot by the windshield washer fluid resivoir.

Distributor wiring was taken off the clip and hide under the intake manifold

Driver side harness was removed and tucked underneath the battery/fuse box. and no i did not extend any of the wiring.

Passanger side harness was removed off the clips and tucked in the corner under the Slave cylinder and zip tied down

Fuel injector wiring. the box was removed off of the injector harness. the heat shrink was removed off of the wires. becareful doing this not to cut the wires. and the clips were ran up through the gaps in the intake manifold runners.

Cleaning
removed battery and covered all electronics.... dizzy, alternator, Harness clips with bags and zip tied them.
Sprayed the entire engine bay, engine, firewall with simple green 75 SG/25 H20. let it sit for 5-10 mins and rinsed off with garden hose. dry the engine bay with shop towels or shop rags.

i used 2 cans of gunk for the engine and transmission for the heavy grease. do the same steps as i did with simple green.

Enjoy guys..

JDMLyfestyle

Here is what we had to start with.

Me workin on TJ's wiring

Almost Done

There now it looks 100x better

I'm very thankful with your help man... it looks 10000x better..
once i get the engine out i will have about 8-10 days to do all the stuff that i want to do...
i will ask you a lot of questions i tell you that. so you can show me how to do couple of things here and there..
i'm thinking about taking the fender, hood, front bumper, headlights, hood so i won't f*ck the paint and so it will make it easier...
i will post a lot of pictures here so you can see what i will be doing...
Thanks

No need to remove the fenders and bumpers.. do what i do. i just never really talk about it..

I go to the dollar store.. buy some Big beach towels.. cut some holes in them and remove a couple fender bolts and hang the towels from there along with the front bumper and tuck them under the headlights

trust me the towels will work. or you can just go to harbor frieght and get some fender blankets and turn your Belt to the back so that you dont scratch the car leaning on int.

My Engine bay is black. i like cause my bay was really Pink before i painted it..lol

it looks good... why don't you have the line that goes out of the intake manifold nest to the T.B??? i see you have a little plastic cover in it..

That line goes to the PCV and breather box, but that is for emissions mostly i believe..... correct me if im wrong.

Not tot thread jack jdmlyfestyle, how would you go about cleaning up an engine bay that has a/c (not ripping it out)

yo man dont flat black the bay, looks like ****, cliche. nice shiny bays that match the car look so much slicker with wire tucks etc. gunk engine degreaser always works wonders.... did it on my old hatch. get 2-3 cans and soak the bay and let it sit.

but to each his own.

can't wait to see some ls-v good luck.
