Default Engine misses

Hey guys,

I was driving my 92 teg today when it all of a sudden began driving rough. It seems to be missing. There was a loss of power, espcially when in the low speed range. At idle is vibrates and the exhaust sputters and sounds like a beat up lawnmower, especially at take off. Sometimes when i speed up i can feel the power coming back. Spark plugs have been changed. Wires seem fine. I took off the dist. cap and cleaned all of the white carbon of the contacts. Still can't get it to run right. And i can't seem to find a vacuum leak, although i might not be looking in the right spot. I tried a search but couldn't seem to find anything. I've been reading the manual and searching the net.

I would like to know if anybody else experienced this and if so, where did you find the problem and are there any tests i can perform to diagnose the problemo. Thanks so much guys for the help.

D.

most likely related to fuel or spark delivery.

any cracks around the distibutor cap? when was the fuel filter replaced? when were the plugs changed? is the gap correct? how do the wires 'seem fine'? spray some brake cleaner or carb cleaner by any vaccum hoses to see for changes in rpm for a vaccum leak.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the help so far. I changed the spark plugs this week to NGK Iridium's. The wire's have no cracks or carbon deposits. Today and i changed the cap and rotor. Still no difference.
Sooo, the next thing I changed was the fuel filter. This made a fair bit of a difference. The car idles better, but there still seems to be a hesitation when i start of in first gear....WTF...The exhaust sounds alot better, but for some reason it doesn't sound exactly right....I was giving it a good test drive when one of the coolant lines down by the oil filter burst on me....
Any other ideas where to look. I bought some penzoil gas cleaner for the injectors. Gonna toss it in later.

Please help guys......

I've only got 190 Kilometers on motor. Been stored ever winter. I checked the spark plugs. Last week, before i replaced the plugs, the old plugs I took out looked beautiful. Now when i look at the new ones, they have some black carbon on them, so i replaced with old plugs and after a few start ups, they had the carbon too. No oil....If they were oily i'd think that it was the rings. Could my ignition coil be going? Any other possibilities.???/

Thanks again, and keep it coming guys.
