Default Engine Problems with my REX

hey guys hoping for a little assistance with a problem I'm having with my rex, the car has a 1991 LS, after sitting for a while (almost a year) with a bad dizzy I got the distributor replaces, only to find the engine running like crap, the car will idle but if you rev it it coughs and sputters real bad, if you SLOWLY rev it up you can get it to rev, the car has ZERO power.

I've replaced the Plugs to find the engine revving very quick like it is supposed to for about 3-5 minutes after which time it went right back to running like ****.

Where should I look next?

Thanks in advanced for any assistance I receive.

I have not had a chance to head over to my buddy's to check the firing order, however the car Idles perfectly fine, still think this could possibly be a problem or is there anything else I could check when I head over there.

No luck, firing order was correct, a buddy sugests the ECU, is there any way to test the ECU short of replacing it?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This may sound stupid or somewhat retarded, but do you have enough gas?

After getting my CRX running it would fall on it's face if you tapped the gas pedal...found out there wasn't enough gas in the tank...but it would start everytime due to the pressure in the fuel system.

If you wanna replace the ECU the best thing is to find a PR4 that you KNOW works from a buddy (so you dont have to pay) and swap 'em out and see if it runs fine...

Are you sure the dizzy you installled was good. It may have a bad module or coil. Just a thought.

I'm next to positive the dizzy is good, yes it has fuel (1/2 tank, it may be bad though) as for swapping out the ECU, all my honda buddies are up in the bay area, since I moved to san diego the new crowd I hang out with drives BMW's. I'll have to see if I can find one in a pick and pull and hope its not all that pricy. Unless I Can find someone on HT that would be willing to come over with one and toss it in to see if the car will fire up.

If ur cars been sitting for a year I'd say the gas is probly bad, or could be clogged inside the lines. Also, i'd do a compression check. How's ur oil pressure? Don't wanna see what ur oil looks like after sitting for a year. Definately get it changed.

All on the list, as soon as this thing fires up I'll be doing all the fluids. just need to get it running stable first. I'll be draining the fuel tank tomorrow.
