Default engine code 80? PLEASE HELP

my car just threw a CEl earlier ...started running like hell. idle sn't solid and feels like the car keeps bogging.

i check my CEL and i believe its reading code 80. it bllinks steady 8 times...but on the last blink it turns off really quick. am i reading it wrong and its a 71?

i looked up the code and it says "80 Exhaust Gas Recirculation insufficient flow detected "

does anyone know what is causing this and how it could be fix? this is upsetting since its my first CEL ANY HELP WITH BE MUCH APPRECIATED!

I agree, check plugs, distributor connector and wires also. I once had the connector wire go bad and caused the engine to missfire and run like shet.

Basically anything wrong with cylinder 1 could cause this problem. Does the car run poorly at all RPM or just a particular RPM?

Quick list (possibly incomplete) of things to check.
Distributor cap
#1 plug wire
#1 plug
#1 fuel injector (harness and the actual injector)
#1 valve adjustment
Compression test
