Default CEL code 1456?

Hey Guys,

I'm throwing this code as of yesterday. Any idea what it is, what the cause is, and what the solution is?

Thanks,
Aamir

Aamir, there aren't any codes that are above 2 digits, so you must be throwing two codes.

Is there a pause between certain numbers? A longer pause would indicate that it is telling you 'another' CEL code.

Without knowing where the pauses are, hard to tell what's up.
You could have CEL 1, 4, 5 and 6, or 1, 4, and 56, or 14 and 56, who knows....

hey Chris,

I used one of those digital readers and it read P1456, dealer specific code.

I have not changed or replaced anything, the car sat for a while and the gas tank cap was slightly loose, I tightened it till it clicked. Light is still on, maybe it will go away after a few drives?

I thought you were reading the CEL blinky-blink.

Not sure... someone knows.

Aamir,

Try checking the code using a jumper and report back with which codes you're throwing.

Sounds like a "code 67".

Aamir, are you running a stock cat? If you're running a test pipe or aftermarket cat, that would explain the CEL.

Do not worry about it, it won't hinder performance.

My Hookah o2 sensor was totally white when i took off my cat this past week. (I should go get hondata and tune!!)

I had an intermitent code 67, but the cat itself is not burnt or dead, not yet.

If that is in fact what code you are throwing, dont' worry about it, no biggie.

George, I already checked the Hookah 02 inhalation unit, all is good there as you can see

My car is as stock as a stock R comes minus the APC Altezzas and underbody glow kit. No test pipe, exhaust/header etc....

After some perusing HT, I see that 1456 is an EVAP code, it will not hinder performance, and could very well be my gas tank cap not being on tight, it may clear out after a few trips after the gas tank pressure is back to normal. If this does not alleviate the problem I will reset the ECU and go from there, I'll let you know the outcome, gotta love the CEL....

1456 and 1457 are EVAP purge system codes. One is for an error in the front of the car and one is for an error in the back of the car. What has happened is that somewhere in the system you have lost vacum.

If it happens to be the rear code (I can never remember which one is rear) I posted all about what when wrong and my solution in my last post in this thread:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=532857

If it is the front of the car then it could be a multitude of other solenoids which happen to be bad on my car as well.

Good luck to you, I hope it is something simple because the parts add up real fast.

P1456 EVAP leak tank system most likely it was your loose gas cap.
