engine cleaning
I just picked up and engine and its really dirty so I wanna clean it I've used a couple of degressers before but wanna see if anyone out their knows a good product I want this thing to look like it just came out of the machine shop ...lmk if anyone hass some info thanks HT
Autozone has a very good degreaser that has gotten 10 year old oil stains off my garage floor after 10 minutes of soaking. OMPH! in a yellow bottle, don't inhale it.
use some cheap stuff like simple green at first or oil eater (costco stuff) and soak everything in your engine bay for as long as the bottle recommends. Make sure to first cover your air filter. Next, take a pressure washer and use it to blast the tougher grease off of your engine block and tranny, being careful not to get the wand too close to painted surfaces, wire couplings, fuse boxes, or your air filter (by this, I mean they can get wet, just don't hit those areas with super high pressure)
Remove the cover off of your air filter and start the engine to dry everything out, then use tire shine and WD-40 to make all of your plastic/rubber/ other black surfaces look brand new and enjoy the compliments you get.

Maybe tire shine but I wouldnt recommend WD-40 because it is a petroleum product which eats rubber surfaces.
