ecu question
Hi everyone, I just got my swap done...i have a 2001 b18b inside my 2000 honda civic EX...i could not use the b18b ecu because of the immobilizer...but i will try to get that problem fixed...temporarily..i am using the d16y8 ecu aka sohcvtec ecu...Is this ok?? right now i have a CEL but i was told by the shop that it was because i had no vtec hooked up....and should be ok to drive on temporarily? opinions please?

Find a 98-99 LS ecu as they don't have the immoblizer in those years... I don't know if that will affect anything with how the cars starts though...

youll be fine for now but dont run on it too long. get something older like 94-99 ecu. obd1 would be the key but your going to need a wiring harness too.
