Hi everyone, I just got my swap done...i have a 2001 b18b inside my 2000 honda civic EX...i could not use the b18b ecu because of the immobilizer...but i will try to get that problem fixed...temporarily..i am using the d16y8 ecu aka sohcvtec ecu...Is this ok?? right now i have a CEL but i was told by the shop that it was because i had no vtec hooked up....and should be ok to drive on temporarily? opinions please?

It should be ok just go easy on the gas pedal.

yes you'll be fine just don't go all crazy. in the top end it will tend to run little lean but otherwise its fine 80% of the time to use it.

invest in harness converter and OBDI ECU. less hasles and more potential
