difficulty level of ls engine
how hard would it be and how long to take out an LS engine with the proper tools... the thing is my car is my daily driver and im gettin 3 free days to swap out my 1994LS for a 99LS engine... im not that new to this ..i've swapped engines of some preludes which is the only eperience that i have...
Ive done quite a few r&rs on integras. Mostly da's but i've done 2 dc2s. never kept too much track of time, but to take one out (added everything goes smoothly) i'd say noo more than 4.5 hours. So figure to replace 5.5 max. Thats with taking your time. Three days would be more then plenty, excluding the fact that your putting an obd2 motor in an obd1 car..

I know DA's take longer(Used to have a DA that I did an auto to manual and LS to B20 swap at the same time and that only took 2 days[about 9hours total, having to swap a bunch over]), but 4.5 for a DC just to pull it out? 2 hours is a generous time just to pull it out. I can pull out the tranny and throw another one in with the car only on jackstands in an hour and a half.

the DC has alot of room to work with so ill give it no more than 2days... its only the engine not trans.... i've done auto to manual swap on a prelude and it was a headache at first.... but the engine came out inless than an hour wittt power tools and a forklift

It's easiest and quickest to pull both out at the same time. But anyways, it should not take long at all since you have some prior motor removal experience.

Note i said taking your time, and no more than 4.5. Im sure if i, or anybody were in a huge rush, they could get it pulled in under 2/2.5. But if you have 3 days, and you want to make sure your doing it all correct & clean. I'd say 8-9 hours total is a good estimate thats quoted working alone and im part perfectionist lol. good luck!
