Default Comptech Icebox question...?

I'm going to get the comptech icebox soon. Should I buy a shortram intake or should I just buy a K&N Filter and use the stock rubber tubbing? Anyone done this?

thought you need either the comptech filter, or the comptech intake for the icebox to work

I just bought an Icebox. I used to run AEM but I'm going to give this one a try just for the heck of it.

I bought their filter and the "icebox" >> you really don't need the aluminum tubing.

Comptech tubing is smooth inside for better flow quality, the bends are also designed for optimial flow. I beleave its larger diamater than the stock tubing as well.

The stock arm has a ribbed effect going on, and it is flexible so the turn is not designed for optimial flow quality.

i wish someone did some
dyno testing to see how the comptech foam filter
stacked up against the K&N replacement for stock...

o btw i have a comptech icebox *stock filter and intake arm*
it's just a tad louder than stock...and a tad louder when vtec
engages...love it.
