Default Question about Comptech Icebox foam filter.........

I just picked up an Icebox tonight for cheap, and it's in excellent condition. But I was wondering if the foam filter that it uses can be cleaned and re-used? Or does it have to be replaced once it gets really dirty over time. Over the years, I've always used K&N filters, so I'm curious.

My buddy is running the comptech foam filter in his GSR and he modded the stock air box to mimic comptech's ice box. He says it works pretty well. If you have any questions, IM PoW3l2BaN on this board.

Yes, the foam filter can be cleaned and re-used. We sell UNI filter cleaner and oil on our website http://solar.innercite.com/comptech/620004.html. You can usually purchase this through your local perfrmance shop. Call me if you have any other questions (888)626-6783.

are you referring to the taiwanese spoon products? or the few other ones?
and how are they better? is it a fit/finish thing? a materials thing?
or are you just talking?

All of the things Ive seen from both comptech and spoon are of high quality and have very good fit and finishes. Both are expensive but you get what you pay for. When will honda-tech ever stop hating. BTW good luck on cleaning. It seems like you have to clean the filters a lot more then the k&n one though.

Whoa. and you have run a spoon product?
the rims come from Russia, through japan.
The mirrors are mr. wan spec.
the tiebars and strutbars, also taiwan.
the exhausts look alot like the vision stuff also.
i have nothing against spoon. and i know an awful lot of kids from the bay, and they never badmouth the comptech stuff. most of my friends think it's the best quality best fitting stuff around.

Thats fine if you don't. Have you ever even owned a Comptech part? or tried to install one? seen one up close? looked at the TIG welds in their headers?

exclude me from 'the bay' then because I would love to have some comptech goodies like the B series race header and icebox.

edit: I just saw your team link. http://www.geocities.com/teamuntouchableracing =

your car looks nice.

although at your current motor state you can't run a spoon header, intake or any engine/tran parts.
essentially you're running spoon taiwanese strutbars spoon shiftknob, radiator cap and bracket, drainbolts and spoon resevoir covers.
you do not have any parts that would give you the ability to talk fitment issues like you're doing. No disrespect meant.

oh, and those are very nice autometer gauges by the way.
the monster tach really accents the af meter and volt gauge.

as i said, the sw388 wheel isn't made by spoon.
the n1 is a vision muffler, and the wing fits like ****.

you have benen industries in your sig. ask anyone affiliated with them how the spoon wing fit/finish is.
they'll laugh you over...i promise.
