Default Compression Test Question

When I do a compression test, should the car be cold or to normal operating temperature then done? Would the results read higher if the car is warm?

What do you think my comression should be in a B20B with B17a head. The bottom end is stock>

Default Re: Compression Test Question (importimage)

It should be warm. The fuel and spark should be disabled (pull fuses). The throttle should be wide open. You should crank until the pressure quits increasing. Either take out ALL the spark plugs, or put them back in one by one. Don't check one cylinder with 3 plugs installed, next cylinder with 2 plugs, etc.

If someone says what pressure it 'should' be, remember the internal volume of the gauge makes a difference. If you use a different gauge you can get different numbers.
