pull ecu fuse
take out ALL spark plugs at once and check each cylinder

yes you should hold the throttle wide open while turning the engine over.

Keep cranking until the gauge isn't increasing any more. 4 is about right, but that's not an absolute rule.

Just don't use the piece of junk compression tester for $15 from Harbor Freight. I regret buying it... not only does it fail to work correctly (doesn't seem to tighten to the spark plug hole enough, so you lose a ton of pressure when doing the test), but the adapter piece got stuck down in the spark plug hole once... had to buy some loooooooooooonnnnnggggg needle nose pliers to get it out. Luckily I didn't tighten it that much or else I don't know what I would have done (the socket that fits it doesn't fit the spark plug hole). The one from Schucks with the steel braided hose looks nice.

Anyways... yeah... enough of that. What everyone else said is pretty much all there is to it...

Bosch Pt+4 have a strange gap, cause they use some kind of surface-arc. I don't know if the gap is supposed to be the same as normal plugs. Besides, the center electrode has that ceramic collar around it, so its hard to measure the real gap...
