Default compression test question

sup,
im about to run a compression test on my si, i was wondering how many engine cranks i shall do in order to get good results. i will be removing the spark plugs obviously, and putting the tube down the cyllinder and cranking it. does it matter how many times i crank it or as long as it is the same amount of time on each cylinder?

also do i keep the other spark plugs in as i do each cylinder or should i take out all the plugs and crank it? im thinking keep the other spark plugs in to prevent gas sprays....just want to make sure.

thanks

I'd pull some fuses to disable the fuel pump & the spark. Then take all 4 plugs out.

If you wanna count how many cranks, then I guess go 5 or 6. I just keep cranking until the pressure quits increasing.

Exactly! Make sure to open the throttle 100% while cranking.

That's basically all you need to do.

Let's see....testing compression, all the plugs will be out.... I don't think the car will be able to start with the plugs out.

That's the point you don't want the engine to fire up only crank.

Compression tests take about five minutes to do on a honda, but for the bench/internet racers.... they gotta make a huge deal about it like it's rebuilding a transmission or something.
