Code 9 help AND VTEC popping off and on
i have 2000 integra gsr swap b18b1 harness and distributor with obd1 ecu
im getting code 9.
rpms cut out at about 5500 rpms almost everytime and i heard that the obd1 ecu reads rpms different than obd2b ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT
OH and VTec isnt kicking in i thought i have had vtec since i did the swap a few days ago then out of nowhere when i gassed it in first gear it hit vtec for like 2 seconds and now im dying to find out how to fix this. i might be low on oil but i had alot more in there a few days ago and it had no sign of vtec.and its trying to engage so something must be off just a little.
HELP PLEASE.

OBDI harness I assume?
What ECU? Chipped?
LS dizzy? OBD I or II?
Code 9 is the cylinder sensors that are in the distributor (though the OBD II model engines also use a sensor on the crank (CKP)). Thus, it is a wiring/distributor problem....or using a LS dizzy on a GSR is just a bad idea all together. I assume you cut one leg off the dizzy and it is properly timed and not just slapped on and 45 degrees off timing?

I'm Using the b18b1 LS harness with an obd2 head
my bottom end I believe is obd1
and you called it ls distributor with one leg chopped off and I heard that the obd2b reads tach a different way than obd1? So how could I get my ls distributor work on my GSR

OBDI or II harness???
Seriously, you've got to give ALL the details, you said it was a 00 GSR swap and now you're saying the head is OBD2 and the block is OBD1....you still havent said what ECU you're running or if you have properly wired in the vtec wiring to your non-vtec harness. Nobody's going to be able to help with half the facts.
Buy the right distributor...sounds like you need an OBD I for a GSR/B16. It's $85 and not jacked up/half a$$ed.
