Default Climate control

I have a 94 integra GSR, and my cold/hot slider is hard as hell to move. sometimes I think I'm gonna break it off. I got into my friends 95 and it slides really well. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it? TIA to anyone that can help me.

Its tough to describe, but Im sure there is a way to lube the cable. All that cable does is move a door that covers the Heater core, or opens it up to allow the air to pass through it (heat).

Look under the pass side dash, towards the middle, you should be able to see what Im talking about.

I saw what you are talking about, but I disconnected the cable and it was easy to move. I'm thinking it's the other cable. a little harder to get to. do you guys think WD-40 would work? I'm at work so I haven't tried anything yet.

BTW thanks for that advice, i'm a little closer to solving my problem

Maybe try lubing the door???? where it pivots? WD-40 will work, but its too viscous (liquid like), not to mention the smell.

I would try the Lithium spray...

Mine's really hard to move from cold to hot, but vice versa is easier... not what it should be, but easier none-the-less. Please let us know if you have any success.

If you have removed the AC controls before you need to make sure the cable gets routed back down correctly to the door switch.
If that is not correctly routed that is the problem, too much bending. If not try a spray gease insaide the cable.

BTW I have an extra AC conrtols if you broke yours. Make offer. please

Oh! good point!

Make sure the cable is in its "clip" holder! Right before it terminates there should be a clip that holds the cable.

I guess I have to check the "top" portion. the clip is on the bottom part. I actually un hooked it from the moving parts and the slider move's pretty easy, I guess it's all under the dash. I guess since everyone else is living with it, so should I

I'm always afraid mine is going to break. My previous Integra had the same problem so I just figured it was supposed to be hard to move?

yea mine is the same way. i have to push it hard to "break" it loose, and then is slides fairly easy to where i want to set it.
