i have a 00 integra ls.
check engine light is on right from the get-go.
put key in ignition, turn it to where u can start messing with the power windows and such, and cel light clicks on.
stays on after i turn on car..
dont have a code reader, but n e suggestions..?

 

well, i tried to pull the codes using the obd1 method, using a paper clip with the connector..
and i got code 3..
MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor

OBDII codes are read the same. If you want more specific information on the MAP code (03), go to your local parts store. They should read the codes for free.

 

would it be safe to say, in any event, i'm gonna hafta replace the map sensor?

 

Most likely, yes. I would check the connections first.

 

yeah, i checked all connections.
also sprayed the plugs with some electronic parts cleaner.
no go..still have the CEL light on throwing same code.
*sigh* i guess i'll have to order one. and guess what?! no fn auto parts store here as one. sonofa..

 

MAP is a real expensive sensor from the dealer. FYI

 

EBAY!!!!

 

I would definately go to autozone or o'reillys or wahtever and get it scanned before you make any repairs.
