Default cel help...

Hey guys I am in need of some help.
I have a cel 61, which refers to the primary O2 sensor.
I replaced the O2 sensor with a brand new Bosch O2 sensor
and I reset the ECU, but I am still getting the cel 61.
Can anyone shed any light on the subject.
Or another approach to fix the problem?
Thanks in advance
dennis

Your problem most likely has to do with the wiring. If you have any experience with it, try to follow the wires from the O2 sensor back up into the car as far as you can. Somehow one of the wires may have been tugged at when you installed the header, which could potentially keep the sensor from providing a reading and sending it back to the ECU. If you're not comfortable with looking at it, have someone who knows what they're doing (don't pay a shop if you don't have to) take a look at it. Hope that helped.

Just wanted to add....did you use the Bosch sensor that you have to wire ? If so, make sure you followed that correctly and the wires are in the right places.

rather than follow the wire, borrow a voltmeter
