CEL Code?
This is my first post on this board. Seems to be very in depth i like it alot
Well I recently got a CEL code of 92 on my 97 Gsr. Its Evaporative Emmision Control System Insufficient Purge Flow. Ive asked many people and they keep telling me it has to do with the gas cap being loose. Is this the problem that im having? Sometimes its not on as tight as others being that I live in New Jersey where they do it do it for you. Im also hearing that the canister under the battery should be cleaned out? Has this happened to anyone here before?

go tighten your cap and reset your ECU and see if you still get the CEL.

If it was the gas cap, shouldn't the error be something like 'insufficient pressure/vacuum in the gas tank'? Purge flow has to do with the purge valves, lines, & canister. I got the wrong year Integra, so my Helm book won't help.
i have the same problem.
its your "purge control valve".
its probably blown up.
you have to replace that valve.
its gonna cost you around 150 for that piece of shlt.
i suggest you let a certified technician handle this since it deals with your electrical.
theres prolly a short circuit somewhere which is causing ur "purge control valve" to blow.
the purge control vlave is the black switch which sits on top of the throttle body.
it has one tube connected to it, which connects to the "purge cannistor".
replacing this would incease ur gas mileage.
because this vlave recirculates unburnt fuel.
if u need some pictures, i can take em, but it should be easy to find.
i have replaced this valve, but it blows every 100 or so miles.
to see if ur purge control valve is dead, just disconnect everything, and connect it to ur battery. if it aint "CLICKING" or (opening and closing) then its dead.

oh yeah, the purge cannister is about 130 bucks for that piece of shlt.
its a bltch to take out also.
my light is still on because i tried to go cheap and just replace the valve. but sooner or later, that peice of short circuited.
and now i need a new one.
theres something wrong with my electrical, and i do not have the money to have a professional do it...
but yeah, check your purge control valve.
just unplug one wire.
remove 2 10mm bolts.
and then get two wires.
connect the neg/pos to the battery and listen for any clicking.
if it doesnt make any noise, ur shlt is dead.
u need a new one.
and if u talk to any mechanic, they will tell you to replace the purge cannister while ur at it.
