CEL 22
My check engine light came on last week and I finnally checked the code and it was 22,VTEC pressure valve. What exactly does this entail? Now the light is off. The car is an 01 GSR.
Thanks.
Thanks.
VTEC oil pressure switch. It's a green plug forward & down from the distributor. When the ECU engages VTEC, it wants to see sufficient oil pressure. If it doesn't, it sets code 22.
First, check your oil. Then check the wiring... or maybe a bad pressure switch? There's a screen in the gasket between the VTEC spool-valve & the head. Maybe that's dirty & clogged.
Worst case, if you've got a REAL oil pressure problem then you can check your oil pickup in the pan, or maybe your oil pump.
