Default No vtec, No check engine light, No fun

I for the longest time had a code 22, vtec oil pressure CEL. I finnaly figured out why, it was a simple wiring problem. fixed that and cranked up the car after resetting the ECU. No CEL!! I thought i fixed the problem, I was wrong, went out and drove it, no vtec. What can cause vtec not to work, but not throw a code. I know what will be said "check your oil level" but I have done that and it is fine. My oil pan is a little dented, but not too bad, and I know that can have an effect. I know I should check the oil pressure when the car is in vtec, but i am not sure how to do that while driving. any help is appreciated.

Let the car warn up to operating temerature?

VTEC won't work if the motor is still cold.

yup, it was warmed up. Can my oil pressure be low only when in vtec? would it trip my oil pressure light in my dash?

Chase that dented up oil pan. Those little dents may just be your problem. To get oil pressure while in Vtec, raise car up completely off the ground, because you are going to have to shift because as you probably already know you can hit vtec in neutral. Either jack it up and use jack stands or put it on a lift. Then go from there. Good luck.
