Default Broken spark plug, only threads are left in the head.

I was trying to get #2 spark plug out and it snapped at the base. Only the threads are in there. The porcelain came out so there is a hole in the middle to put an EZ-out in there but I don't think it will do any good since I couldn't loosen it with a breaker bar.

Are there any other special tools to help get it out? I'm pretty sure I have to take the head off to get it out, but just before I do, I just wanted to check and see.

Oh wow, that really sucks man. You weren't even able to get it out with a breaker bar? So I'm assuming the spark plug might have been cross threaded to start with? if this is the case, even if you could get it out, you'd still have to get the hole re-threaded.

Yeah that is what I am assuming. I just bought the car today and I don't think the previous owners did any tune-ups. Whoever put it in before either stripped it or it's just been in there so long with no anti-seize that it.

This is the first time I've had one break on me. I've had some tight, but never break so I can just assume it was put in with an cordless impact gun. Crazy, but I see a lot of mechanic's doing that. Thank god I don't let anyone touch my other car.

The EZ out might be your best option, hopefully it isn't really cross threaded, just seized from being there a while. Wait til' the engine is nice and cool until you try it, since metal expands when it's hot, it'd be more difficult doing it while the engine is still hot.
