Default b18a1 and b18b1 differences

im looking for an ls swap and eventually want to boost but can someone tell me the difference between the two of these motors besides the fact that one is cable and the other is hydro. if i get the b18a1 it will have to be from a 93 so it will be obd1 and if its a b18b1 i would like it to be obd1.

is there a hp and trq difference and if so is it noticeable? if stock, is one better for turbo than the other?

b1 has a little more HP (better cams). other than that it's the same.

Intake manifold is visually different, but I'm not sure if it actually functions differently.

Yes - and you can pick up stock B1 cams w/gears on ebay for pocket change.

The B18b1 from '94 - '95 is OBDI
