CAMS
I believe the cams only require for you to change your valve springs and crap, you dont have to get a harness, you can go to http://www.crower.com for cams, they are great, can someone verify that you need the valvesprings FORSURE, or can you just slap on the cams and you are set?

no harness eh?? so how you going to effectively/effeciently tune those cams you just installed?

You need valve springs if you plan to raise your RPM above the stock limiter, which is what these cams were designed for. If you don't raise the RPM, then your stock springs will work.

oh, lol, I thought he had a obd1, Because mine is a obd1 so I dont have to change harness, but can I judt put the crower 403s on and dont change nothing else except tune it? Like not puttin on valve springs and crap is okay?

some would say they are ok if you keep the stock redline...but I know for a fact (not speculation) that if a cam profile is aggressive enough on any stock spring it will cause the springs to bind...even if youre only still going to the stock redline

you also have to worry about your springs being able to "pop" fast enough to open and close the valves and possibly floating a valve. Just get valvetrain so you are safe rather than sorry
u dont HAVE to change harness. you dont HAVE to change valvetrain. you dont HAVE to tune it. to put the cams in there and them work all u physically HAVE to do is swap cams. the rest is just recommended. and whos to say he couldnt stay obd2 and use vafc? also, the OP never specified what crower cams it was he was lookin for so he mioght not even have to change valvetrain.
to the OP, what cams exactly were u talking about? or were u wanting us to suggest some cams to u? if so, honestly i wouldnt recommend going all-motor ls non vtec in a DC chassis. the chassis is to heavy and u wont make enough power (at least not for my liking). i would recommend save money for ls/vtec if u wanna go all-motor.

like stated above, it depends on which cams.

u dont need valvesprings to raise the revlimit. aftermarket valvesprings are just so u can safely rev above stock revlimit, but it is noit required to raise the rev limit.

not trying to be an *** but it wouldnt hurt if u did a lil research.

nobody said he couldnt, but cams are modifications that are VERY picky concerning ignition timing AND fuel to get power. And using piggy back system prevents you from effectively getting power out of them since the ignition is preset if you richen or lean out the mixture. Because they aren't independent of each other, consider your tune just as good as a basemap best guess...

yes i know that but, i was jus throwing something out there. trust me, i know hed be better off going obd1 and tunning on something like hondata, crome, uberdata, etc. but he doesnt necessarily HAVE to.

aight, like i stated before, all that u absolutely need is cams. but, if want it run good and make the most power, its gonna cost u some money. but this is what i would recommed
1. cams
2. valvesprings & retainers
3. obd2-obd1 harness
4. obd1 ecu
5. ecu chipped to run crome
6. take it to a tuner that is knowledgeable with crome and have him tune it

If you are going to have cams installed, why not get the rest of the stuff done at the same time? They are going to have to take it apart anyways, might as well save yourself money in labor.
