axle help
hey, just finished installing an axle on the driver side, went out and test drove it and at about 50-60 it starts to shake my steering wheel back and fourth like if i had a seperation in the tire tred. Bought the axle from car quest a fairly decent auto part store that sells decent aftermarket parts (better than auto zone) and realized that the axle did not have the little dounut in the middle of the axle that acts like a stablizer. After i noticed this i asked the guy behind the counter about the missing dounut in the middle and he said aftermarket axles don't come with them. Question is should I do because it fells like my left front end is going to come apart.
No the little donut is factory only.. if you buy a new axle from acura it will more than likely come with it... other than that any new or reman axle anywhere else wont have it.. thats not going to cause a vibration... try swaping you front tires to the back and see if it gets any better.. sounds like a bad axle or a tire/wheel issue let me know how you make out
most likley i think it's the axle that was sold to me because my tires have decent meat on them and have no camber or any type of unnormal wear on them
