Any One Have A Built Ls???
I was planning on going ls/vtec also, but it would of costing a little too much for me. If you build it, you have to build it right and cost $$$. With that amount of money, id just rather boost. Instead i threw in some 403 crower cams, but havent got a chance to tune it yet. But here's a link of a guy that did. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=400125
who ever thinks that LS internals can not handle boost is believing in a misconception. Nothing wrong with LS internals, except maybe not having forged pistons, with the tunning and standalone, it will boost as long as it needs to, with the proper care.
i had a mildly built ls and it was fun@first.good tq but top end blowed.my set up consisted of 97usdm itr sluggs, shot peened ls rodds, cluthcmasters flywheel, arp rod and head bolts, single layer head gasket, shaved 94 ls head, hybrid *** ghetto clutch, gsr pressure plate,ls clutch disk and a ls tranny.even with this set up,i was able to run neck and neck with 2nd gen gsr's and i even pulled on ls's sprayin.all in all,you would be better off gettin a b16 tranny and do a franky.oyea,my weapon of choice was a 93 integra lsse that i miss so dearly much
heres a dyno for ya
eagle rods, weisco pistons (11.3:1 CR), crower 403cams, , p&p head, fully ballenced bottom end, unorthodox pully
, skunk2 im, jdm itr header, carsound cat, thermal r&d exaust, jdm itr tranny and all of this right now is running with a stock ecu with the rev limiter removed
so yes it is far from being tuned, im trying to save for a hondata right now
i've reved it to 8500 a few times with no problems, but it definatly isnt something i do every day, I love driving this car everyday it has such a nice fat tq and powerband its very easy to even drive at lower rpms around town
if i had it to do over again would i use the same motor?... probally not but im definatly not looking back on it and saying it was a mistake, because its just so damn fun

Forged Pistons ?
Standalone ?
Tuning ?
All I was saying is that with the amount you would have to spend more money for a set up you might not even like . but it's all on personal prefrance some people like boost , some like all motor , and some love vtech

WTF??
If you want to save money, stop modding your LS. Your $#!t list of mods isn't gonna do jack squat. Turbo is the most cost effective way to go for an LS(Well, there is N20, but you do have to refill the bottles alot
). Like Mase said, tuning is the key.
