I tried searching but can't find a similar problem as I am experiencing. My speedometer rarely works, only when it is cold out does it somewhat work, but moves only after 20 or so mph. What boggles me is the odometer still turns even when the speedo is not working.

I don't have a check engine light and also with the odometer working I don't think it's the vss. I think it needs a new cluster, but want some input before I shell out the dough for one.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Threw another speedo in my cluster and it is fixed now.

 

Oh, was going to say take the gauge out and see if any electrcal components have failed, seems like a voltage issue to the circuit controlling the needle as it runs off Voltage Pressure sent by speed sensor. a lesson in electronics: voltage is considered to be a force, or another words a pressure that causes action or in this case the movement of electrons. Sorry, but I'm really bored right now. lol
