Default 3rd gear

I have a g2 ls, just put a act clutch and pressure plate and got my fly wheel resurfaced along with a new clutch cable. The problem is that my 3rd gear is grinding. Ive heard that this is a sign that you need a new clutch but mine is brand new, Ive also heard about the infamous syncros and all g2's grinding 3rd ? anyone else have this problem? what is it?

I believe its the "the infamous syncros" or have u driven the car hard, after awhile the 3rd gear will start to grind because of wear and tear but its more than likely the syncros, thats my problem lol...anyways good luck with it

i got a 91 and also a 94 integra ls. both of them grind third gear when u get on it. i think it's just the ls tranny. the 91's cable and the 94 is hydraulic.dont know what the deal is either. dont worry man grind it till u find it.

I have a 94 LS, and if I accidently grind any gear, then 3rd will start grinding for a little bit. When I first started driving, it would grind everytime, but now I can bang 3rd at about 6500 and nothing. Just a nice chirping sound. Try this, hold the clutch down, put it in second and throw it into 3rd with the clutch down, see if it grinds, then throw it back down into 2nd, and throw it into 3rd and see if it grinds. Then I would guess its the syncros, mine do it sometimes, but not all the time. I dunno what to tell ya. Try that GM Syncromesh, with the special crap, I forget what its called, supposely that **** works like a charm, I've yet to get some, but I will eventually.

It doesnt have anythign to do with the clutch, its your synchros,
Ive alwasy seen problems with the Honda 3rd gear syncros going first. Always wondered if it was a production flaw, or just because its a commonly missed gear
