A fairly rare Honda Prelude was found hibernating outdoors after sitting for a number of years. Project car time!

YouTuber IMSTOKZE is living out the exact scenario we all want to live out. He’s exploring the UK overgrowth for cool cars, and he’s managed to find one. And what a find it is. It’s a Honda Prelude, which is cool enough, but apparently the coolness factor goes sky hi from here.

We Join IMSTOKZE as he readies his friends with the task of yanking the Prelude up an embankment and out of the woods. A quick inspection of the car shows it’s in good shape. There’s little rot, and none of the usual Honda red faded paint. It’s not perfect, as the interior is full of fuzzy mold, but the bones are there.

Pulling the car up the hill is a challenge, mostly because the car – unsurprisingly – doesn’t run. And a saggy exhaust kept anchoring the car in the ground. But after some maneuvering they were able to get it out and drag it away. With a flat tire and a simple tow rope, of course.

After the transportation adventure, they were able to get a better look at the score they just found. Things were rough, but just covered in surface dirt. A quick power wash and scrub saw a big change in appearance for the outside of this Honda. However, sitting outdoors for years saw some embedded dirt in the paint. It’ll need some buffing to get correct.

Inside, things were a bit worse off. Mold had started to form and permeated throughout the cabin. But thankfully it seemed to be just surface mold and cleaned up rather quickly. Sanitizing the interior fully and preventing a mold return might prove to be a bit more difficult.

A second part of this video will be out soon that focuses more on the mechanical revival of this car. We never got to see the engine running. In fact IMSTOKZE only got to the point of getting ignition lights on the dashboard. Hopefully the H22 will be easy to revive, especially since the vitals like oil checked out to be ok.
