Touring Honda’s Ohio Based ‘EV Hub’

Honda takes a new manufacturing approach in its “EV hub”.
In recent articles the Honda “EV Hub” had been mentioned several times. Today, we will visit the manufacturing facility that serves as one of three points to this overall hub.
These facilities are located in Ohio, United States and all have various functions. Overall, they are capable of producing components for Honda’s Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), and Hybrids.

The facility visited in this video had been modified from it’s original state. A full assembly line had been removed to make room for future battery component manufacturing.
One of the components is a large die-cast subassembly that will be later sent to another facility within the EV Hub to have battery cells installed.

When the components are completed, they are returned to this location for final installation into the vehicle. This plant is capable of assembling all configurations of ICE, BEV, and Hybrid vehicles due to Honda’s unique “Parallel Module Manufacturing”.

This is a process developed by Honda where assemblies are put together in cells. They are not influenced by the remaining assembly line being slower or building a different car entirely.
Honda looks bright with the EV Hub creating 300 additional jobs and pushing towards their goal of a zero emissions future.
