Default Compression ratio limit for stock B18B rods

Hi, I will be buying aftermarket high compression pistons for my LSVTEC and they say it will make around 12.1:1 CR with my head-block combo. I'm wondering if the stock B18B rods will be able to handle that high. This is a daily so I won't have it tuned to the limit.

99% of aftermarket pistons use a floating wrist pin. OEM rods/pistons use a press-fit pin. Did you buy pistons compatible with press fit rods?

Haven't bought it yet but the listing says they're press-fit.

Edit: It's a rep CTR piston from YCP.

Oh. Ah.

Yeah they will handle that just fine. Stock rods can handle a lot more torque than a B18 can make naturally aspirated.

I would not suggest you getting the CTR style dome top piston design... the combination you have posted will have a compression ratio of at least 13.7:1 !!! For a pump gas street car, I would recommend using a PR3/P30 style/contour piston. That will put your compression ratio at about 12.1:1... where you need to be.
