K-Swapped Acura NSX Produces 950 WHP

Julian from That Racing Channel joins Navin for an in-depth look at one-of-a-kind 1995 K-Swapped NSX with 950 WHP.

The Acura NSX has gone down the pages of automotive history as a modern classic. The sports car was introduced in 1990 and was designed with inputs from Formula One racing legend Ayrton Senna. So, you would expect that most NSX owners probably preserve their rides in maximum-security facilities. Well, Navin is not one of those owners, as his Acura NSX features a K-series powertrain. Recently, Julian from That Racing Channel caught up with Navin, who offered an in-depth look at his one-of-a-kind ‘95 NSX.

The owner swapped the stock six-cylinder powertrain for a K24A2 motor. That’s right, this NSX is powered by the motor out of an Acura TSX. Navin then installed a Honda 2000 oil pump and a wide range of engine upgrades. The engine is a Ramey Racing closed-deck sleeve block which is mated to a Quaife sequential gearbox.

Navin offered a complete breakdown of all the performance modifications that were done to the powerplant, “We Got Saenz 300m rods in there, Wiseco pistons, ARP head studs, OEM head gasket on the head, uh, it’s kind of poor or somewhat poor and polished a little bit. Um, on the valves we got Supertech, on the springs we have, I think it’s Supertech also.” He further added, “For the ECU, we were on Hondata V4 but wasn’t working out with the sequentials, so we ended up going to a MoTecC M130″.

So what happens when all these modifications come together? Well, at 20 PSI Navin’s K-swapped Acura NSX puts out Around 700 HP of power, and when the boost is turned up to 40 PSI, the car’s power output is bumped up to around 950 horsepower at the wheel. The performance figures of Navin’s NSX might seem unrealistic, but TRC’s video features a dyno test that backs the owner’s claim.

The stock NSX suspension has also been updated, and the car now rides on BC racing coilovers and gets swift racing springs. These original NSX wheels were also replaced by a set of Enkei PF01 rims, which are wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888 tires.

“The story behind the car’s build is even more impressive than its power figures. “I fully built this whole entire motor myself from the ground up. Every nut and bolt is everything on me. I turned every wrench on this thing. The fabrication was all me as well too. Bought me a tig welder and practiced and made it work,” said Navin.
