Average temp of a header during operation ?
Just as it says...
Just want to know what the normal surface temperature of a stock or aftermarket header on a B series would get to if anyone has something to measure it.

A temp range would be fine....Avg temp to Max temp.... I said either stock or aftermarket.
I am just looking around at powdercoatings and thermal coatings. I have access to the machine/oven to apply them. At 800+ deg F... I guess I can throw my powdercoats out the window.

under race conditions the average temp of the haader will be around 1100 degrees. We wouldn't know that though we only build headers and sell the components for a living

I would think that the temps would be slightly higher, like ~1300ºF when cruising, or under load for a long time. I am basing this on my experience with turbo cars, when cruising out of boost. I can't say for certain, though, since I've only used EGT gauges on turbo cars.
