rota slip 16" specs
Okay I have a set of Slips with 215/40/16's on them I was told by a local tire shop that the wheels were a 16x7 +40 but i'm having a hard time beleiving them. When measured with a tape from the outside lips they are around 8" wide. Is there a way to tell by looking at all the numbers on the back of the wheel?

Re: rota slip 16" specs
If they are 8 inches from the outer edge of the outer lip to the outer edge of the inner lip, then they are almost certainly 16x7. As shown in the diagram below from the Tire Rack, the width of the wheel (e.g. the "7" in 16x7) is measured at the bead, the indent at which the inside edge of the tire sits. The difference between that and the external dimensions is usually about an inch.

Yeah it was a hair over 8 from outer lip to lip. I"ll pull it back off to double check offset. But It looks like the tire shop was probably right

Not to thread jack.
BUT....
I understand what offset is and how its measured... But how would one go about checking the offset of an unknown wheel?
