Okay to back up C9A1L1L, The 2g dsm has a T-25 turbo that at anything over 18psi it starts to come apart. No good, can't go fast on that, the car will actually get slower.
The early DSMs like lets say your 89-94 eclipses and Talons came with what is known as a 14b, now that turbo can sustain boost of 23psi all day long but will be extremely out of efficiency and bigger then what comes on the 2g 95-99 eclipses.
The Evo 8 and 9's come with turbos almost equivalent to a big 16g that flows like our 20gs. Some people make almost 400awhp on them.
I used to have a gsr that always lost to gst's, after a few bolt ons that stopped. Then I would get beat by the modded ones. I went with a jackson racing kit and further upgrades and stopped losing to almost everything. That was long before cars got as fast as they are today like when 12 seconds was ungoddly fast.
In 2001 I had a brand new yellow ITR and I used to rape alot of people but could not beat Gst's and Talons with upgraded turbos. I later built an H22a2 Hatch with nitrous and all the bolt ons. That was fun, back then I killed even the modded DSMs but with the car and swap and everything combined I spent more than I would have just swapping a stock 4g in it with a 20g turbo that would have easily netted 10s all day long. Once I started getting eaten up by the awd DSMs that where slower than me from a roll but I couldnt catch them from a dig I sold the hatch and bought a 99 GSX. The GSX was fun and fast as hell with a stroker and 2.4l but was heavy as hell. I wanted another Honda, so I got one but I didn't want to pay retarded prices for K-series swap. Why is because I would have to build it for boost because I'm not a risk taker, I don't care who make what power on the stock engine, I'm not them and my luck sucks. I would build it then I would have to source an awd swap from the RDX turbo suv, that would cost me god knows how much. Why because roll racing is like hwy dynoing just against another car. So I myself bought a 99EK hatch and put a fully built to the hilt 4g63 2.3l stroker engine in it and made it awd. I'm now very pleased!

Homie. Thats because we dont race like little sissy girls.
We dont worry about racing high schoolers in their Toyota Paseos.
We worry about juiced up domestics and big turbo imports.
Hell, alot of the time we arent worried at all.
4G63 fo' life, y0
Anyway, enough poppin off at the lip
Back on topic.
Sick CRX build. With some decent boost, that thing will be chaotic.

I like your idea of the H23 and stage 3 cams, I did the same thing kinda, 2.3l 4g63 with Jun 272 cams. The only difference is that I can put the power down from a dig or a roll and saved the cost of having to sleeve my engine.

I respectfuly disagree with you. Thats like saying that all 300z's are a pos, now even though they suck to work on and are land yachts my statement would be false. It's all a matter of opinion and opinions are like Azzholes everyone has one, just some stink more than others. I have seen some amazing gsts out there and I have seen some bad ones. Like with every car it depends on how its treated and maintained. Unfortunatly coming with factory turbo and such potential the gst/gsx is one of the most highly abused vehicles out there. Anything you beat the sh*t out of will not last and that is the same for many things in life.

I think it's a nice little build.AWD would be cool,but it's not an easy conversion.Check out this RWD CRX sporting a 4G63 and a GT45.

Let me see that parts list..... To each his own i guess, but it seems like a disgrace to honda to put some dsm **** in your car. It looks like the swap was done alright and good luck with it, but i just dont like the idea. The 4g63 is a strong motor but it def has some drawbacks just like anything else does.</TD></TR></TABLE>

there is no way u can just throw 1500 into a 4g63 and run 9s. not a hater here just want to see proof. the only reason a lot of people go dsm is because they came stock turbo. they're still even slow stock, why my buddy owns a gst and he still lost to stock gsr and he was boosting 22psi on his stock block and turbo. it's already been proven that a ls will hold up great with boost. everyone has their own opinions, but dont go out giving misinformation.
we honda fans just would have to say that our trannies hold up much better

Yes,Hondas have more luck with there gearboxes than DSM's but your comparing a FWD platform with an AWD platform.
As for the AWD DSM gearboxes, they can pose a problem when the motor starts making more power than stock or a more agressive clutch is used.Obviously you can spend a few grand and buy a DSM gearbox that can handle more power but there are certain year models that have better/stronger internals that can be combined to form a frankenstien trans that can handle quite a bit more power. It all comes down to preference. As long as you have $,anything is possible.

They already have those. Theyre called Galant VR4's. Rare, 4g63 + AWD. Also, there are some Galant GSX's out there. Also rare, but n/a + AWD.
The idea isnt all about "being different", its about putting a more powerful engine into a lighter car.
