Default what pistons to get with my setup

If u have a b20 with a b16 head and are running stock pistons and want to run higher compresion and plan on upgrading the cams and vlvetrain to type r what are better pistons to get itr or ctr. im thinking the ctrs compression will be too high for what im running and the itr will be alright. I want to get a better valvetrain and cams but am afraid of bending the stock rods so I think the itrs will work fine what do u guys think. details on comments please

What does bending the stock rods have to do with anything? What would cause them to bend?

get the JE 84.5mm 12.5 C/R pistons. you'll be fine with pump gas, They are rated 12.5 C/R but i think is over rated on the compression.

Yea JE makes some good pistons. CTR/ITR pistont wont even fit in the 84mm bore.

As stated, the largest bore you can get ctr pistons in is 81.25 (same w/ itr). There is nothing you have indicated that should result in bent rods, so if you do change pistons to another honda oem piston, there is no reason to change the rods.

This is somewhat dependent on what your goal is for the end-result CR. The stock B20B pistons will yield about 9.1:1 CR when used with a B16 head. JE has a couple of options for B20/VTEC applications. One is supposed to yield a 10.5:1 CR and has a dome volume of -1.7 cc. When plugged into the formula for static CR this yields a result of 10.35:1. The other option has a dome volume of 4.8 cc, JE says it'll be a 12.5:1 CR, the formula says about 11.7:1.

Check out the compression ratio calculator in the how to section of http://www.c-speedracing.com you will be able to figure out what compression you will get using various parts.
