Going through tires every six months. Helppppp meeee plssss
I lowered my 99 civic si with H+R sport springs along with tokico blues years ago. Now that i'm putting 105 miles on my car everyday to and from work I am noticing an awful lot of tire wear.
I did the rear camber trick about 2 years ago and it did help the rears a whole lot but the front tires are wearing on the insides extremely quick.
I just bought new tires 15,000 miles ago and already need a new set of front tires. I did a search and saw that some people with a 2 inch drop are being told that an alignment should fix the problem, however all the places i have taken my car to have told me that they cannot adjust the toe.
I'm thinking of buying a front camber kit. Is that my only option? Give me advice. Thanks in advance guys.

Your problem is not the camber, it's always been the toe. How many places have you gone to that told you they cannot adjust the toe? Sounds like you just need to find an alignment shop that knows how to do an alignment.

You have an alignment problem without a doubt and the toe (very likely the culprit although the negative camber could be contributing as well) is unquestionably adjustable with ease. In fact, the it on of the few things from the factory that can be adjusted. If a shop tells you that they can't et your toe, run away and find someone who is competent. You may also need to get some camber compensating parts as well but an alignment check will tell you for sure.
Also in 15,000 miles you should have already rotated you tires 3-5 times by the so any wear patterns would have long ago begun to show up before the tires were destroyed. So with a little tire observation and maintenance, the wear trend could easily have been caught and corrected early enough to save the tires. Wider and softer compound performance tires will begin to show the effects of alignment wear earlier than harder narrower tires but there is always evidence to be seen when you rotate that can help you catch an issue and almost always stop it in time. If you simply rotate and inspect your tires with every oil change out of habbit, the tires will last much longer and wear trends like aligment are easily caught.

3 different places have said that. I guess they don't know. If I ask an alignment shop to set the toe to 0 are they able to do this? Whats involved i'm confused as to why these idiots say they can't adjust it.

CRX Lee I am going to be buying a impact gun in the near future this will make it much easier to rotate my tires. Also I guess I'll be calling around tomorrow to see who know how to adjust toe. Thanks.

Your car comes from the factory with toe adjustments, front and rear. The front is adjusted with the tie-rods, and the rear with the compensator arms. The only reason I can see why 3 diff shops say they can't adjust your toe is because the nuts on the front tie rods and the rear compensator arms are stuck in such a way that none of them have the ability to break them free and make adjustments.
Otherwise, you should be able to get toe set to zero at all 4 corners.

A lot of n00b shops will tell you that they can't zero out toe and the cause to all your tire wear problems is camber.
Don't listen to them and find a shop ASAP that can do the alignment.

You don't need an impact gun. It takes 20 minutes, tops, to rotate 4 tires.
Some places just don't know how to align cars. I took my hatch to a Miata shop, and they proceeded to tell me that my rear passenger side had been hit before and that my chassis was out of spec. Of course it has never been hit and was aligned just fine at another shop.

Toe is really easy to adjust. You adjust toe by the tirod. Did you get a new one? If so you always need an alignment after counting threds are not enough! What you do is on the alignment machen it will give you a number of positive or negitive toe. you put the steering wheel in the middle and start with the right loosen the lock nut by the tirod you can spin the hole rod untill the number gets inspec.
