My 2000 civic b18c1 starting sputtering at stops a while back, I went and got a used fuel pressure regulator at the junk yard and switched it with the one I had on. It ran good for about 2-3 weeks with no problems what so ever and no sputtering idling around 1k. 2 days ago it started doing it again, even worse then before, like it's not getting enough gas, I'm thinking about buying a new one but want to know if I should just get a stock fuel pressure regulator or a different one, there are pricey and I want to get the best for my car.

Fuel pump, my friend. Look into the fuel pump as a potential cause.

Ok I will look into a new fuel pump, so do you think my regulator is not the problem then since I kinda changed it and the symptoms went away?

Have you replaced the fuel filter and done an ignition system tune up?

I changed my fuel liter last month before I changed my regulator. I changed spark plugs in June.thats about it, no cel as of right now, the last cel that came up was about 2 months ago for a knock sensor but I changed that already

Not that they don't but I've never had a Honda regulator go bad. Have you checked your fuel pressure? What do your plugs look like?

I will check my spark plugs again to see if they look bad, and how do I check my fuel pressure to see if the gas flows evenly in my car I read somewhere about that on hondatech but I am not to sure on how or where to start on that

If the plug wires, cap, and rotor are old, replace them and go from there.
