Re: New to me CR-V
haha, I know that feeling, but I just cant leave my cars alone. Even after this is all the way I want it I will decide it's not fast enough, or it's not good enough in one way or another.... it never ends....
I just seen the thread with a new lift kit out. That will be interesting to see how much they want for it. I'll still build my own, I should really get on that, but right now I want this driveshaft in there....

Re: New to me CR-V
yeah if i want something fast and off road capable i think id just buy it ..... like a 2002tacoma trd 4x4 with locking rear diff 10,000 bucks i offered my crv as part trade for it.... and then maybe ill wil buy a bolt on supercharger if its not fast enough...... but you seem like a very capable person to make a vehicle what u want and u have the machinery for it so yeah....

Re: New to me CR-V
Small update: Got to working on some of the adaptor flanges for the drive shaft. I didn't have much time so I only completed one, and bored another to size, but I should be able to get all four done within a few days.
Also I got the pins to size inside the clutchpack, so that is back to proper size and ready to be installed in the rear diff case. Here are a few pics.
The front and rear holes were easy to do, the others took some time as I had to trig out the distances in X and Y since I don't have a radial attachment for the mill I work on.
Thanks for looking guys, I should have another update soon.

Re: New to me CR-V
Ha Ha, yeah I hope she holds!
Here is another update:
I got to work on the other three flanges tonight. The two that will mate to the tranny and the rear diff were a little difficult because after machining them square and doing the bolt holes, I had to turn the boss on center, which isn't easiest thing to setup, but I got them on center within .001", so I shouldn't have any vibration issues.
Here are some pics:
So next on the list is to attach them together and weld them, I am hoping I can do that tomorrow.

Re: New to me CR-V
Ha ha ha, I'm slowly getting there! It takes a while since the machine shop that I use is 30 miles from my house.
Update: So today I worked on the flanges some more. It's crunch time now as it looks like we will get 4-6 inches of snow thursday!
I only got one of the two flanges completed, as I needed to make the center part of both flanges tonight, but I was limited to only getting one done do to my failures, ha ha.
Tomorrow after I finish up the second flange center, I will be stopping over at a friends so I can weld the pieces together. hopefully I can get the carrier mounts laid out tonight so I don't have to waste any more time on that.
Here are the pics from tonight, just to show how the assembly will be welded together.
Thanks for looking guys, I should have an update tomorrow as well. If I don't get this done I will toss in my stock driveshaft and see how it works in the snow.
