cheap springs seem to not sit correctly and make horrible noises that make you want to run into a ditch. did you go cheapbay? what kind of springs?

you need to correct your timing. iv had this exact problem multiple times from not tensioning my belt correctly. i kept jumping a tooth every couple of days or so. hands down, its your timing. fix...

youre probably just burning oil. nothing too major. your stock block is notorious for burning oil.

and when your cel comes on, dont hesitate to check your ecu for a code. that can help too.

ecu codes will be your best friend.. and your worst enemy i guess.

if you know anybody with a crx or civic, you should swap ecus with them temporarily to see if that could be the problem.
